Can I Add a Card Reader to This Vending Machine?

Check the exact machine, controller, firmware or EPROM, and payment wiring before buying a reader. A cutout or MDB-looking connector is not enough by itself.

Get the manufacturer and model, controller board number, firmware or EPROM version, and a clear look at the payment harness and connectors.

MDB is only part of the answer

A machine can have MDB wiring and still need a newer controller, firmware, or an installation kit for a particular reader.

If the machine is not MDB-capable, check for a supported MDB module or replacement control board rather than trying to adapt the plug alone.
